Behind the scenes at the Mandarin Oriental

On Thursday 20th January we launched our stunning 2011/12 bridal and evening wear collection at the magnificent Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park. The day started early for the Caroline Castigliano team - the set designers for the catwalk were at the Mandarin Oriental from 6am! Throughout the day gowns were being tweaked, displays were being built, goody bags were being made up and there were dress rehearsals throughout the afternoon. Everything was planned to perfection!

The evening kicked off at 7pm  and over 200 guests filled the grand ballroom to enjoy the spectacular catwalk show. Back stage, the team and I were making sure that all the models and dresses were ready. The make-up artists and hair stylists were also making some last minute adjustments!

Finally, show time! The Toast Master announced the start of the catwalk show, the lights were dimmed, the music switched on and guests gathered round the stage, vying for the best view point. I opened with my new range of evening and party wear. There was an array of navy with black which I absolutely adore, gorgeous nudes were a favourite with the crowd and also on show were statements dresses in green and purple. I introduced my new line of shorter dresses which are perfect for a party or a slightly more formal occasion such as Ascot, Henley or even as a guest at a wedding.

The new bridal collection followed and models gracefully glided down the catwalk in romantic gowns of soft tulle and lace followed with striking signature pieces with structured fishtail and statement organza gowns.

Phew, at 9pm the show was over and I was extremely pleased to see so many happy guests, many of which immediately booked appointments at their nearest Caroline Castigliano boutique for the next day!

As well as the catwalk show, we also had displays by stunning diamond jeweller De Beers, beautiful bridal stationary by Smythson, chic designer shoes by Aruna Seth and ornate floral displays by Moyses Stevens. Top beauty specialists from Christian Dior and Paul Edmonds were also on hand to give expert beauty advice.

This really was a spectacular evening, and if you missed out make sure to sign up and become a Caroline Castigliano member so you will be the first to know when the next event will be held.
